Going to buy Guildwars, but..
..my friend told me I have to buy all five expansions at once? Well thats what he said I am not sure if hes right. Do I really need to buy all the games at once or can I start off with the first one to see how I like it.
Thank you. Happy Holidays. |

you only need one of the campaigns (Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall) to be able to play the game
Eye of the North is an expansion, you need one of the campaigns to be able to play it. So buy either prophecies, factions or nightfall (i'd recommend prophecies as your first GW game) and see if you like it. If you do, you can buy the rest. |

If you just want to see if you like it, get a trial key. You can get a trial disc for all 3 campaigns at Gamestop for $1.99.
You definitely do not need to buy them all at once... |

I can understand telling them not to start with Sin, Para, or Mesmer... but why not Warrior? I never made one myself... but to my knowledge, they are one of the easer classes to start with. Just my opinion... Have fun with the game! |

To be perfectly honest, if I were to start over, w/ the campaigns that are out now, I'd definitely recommend starting w/ Nightfall. It has a good pace, you get heroes, and it has a very good mix of skills. You also get access to 2 additional professions, whereas Prophecies only has the core ones. Furthermore, NF has a lot of refinements over Prophecies and Factions, IMO.

Isn't the Warrior one of the most popular and easiest characters to learn the game with?
In fact, I would disregard everything he said. You play what you're most interested in and what you think you'll enjoy the most. |

Mes are hard to play for first timers, at least for most. I would say go ele, warrior, or paragon for a pretty fun and easy class |

Regardless, I'd suggest trying all professions so you can at least get a feel for them. |

It seems that the CD key was stolen out of the box. I had to return it and have to wait a few days to buy a new one.

Sorry to hear that but there isn't 5 as you said only 3 campaigns and 1 expansion.I would start off as Necro,Elementalist or Ranger as players think Warriors are easy when in fact they aren't as we see lots of bad bars.I would do lots of reading on that profession first and don't play a Derv there are to many in the game atm.

What the hell are you talking about? theres no such thing as having too many of a profession...
Play whatever you want, pick whatever secondary you want, whatever skills you want. You learn more trying things out on your own |
